Standing in an aisle holding something we haven't scored? Type the barcode and we'll pull the panel from a community database, or turn it over and paste the ingredient list yourself. Either way you get it back line by line.

Look it up

Lookups query Open Pet Food Facts, a community database. Works best with the barcode off the back of the package.

Nothing you paste leaves this device.

What this does and doesn't do

This reads ingredients. It does not produce a 0-100 score, because a score needs things a panel alone can't tell us: recall record, brand transparency, and where each ingredient sits by weight in a formula we can verify. Those are in the methodology.

Lookups come from Open Pet Food Facts, a crowdsourced database. Panels there were typed or photographed by volunteers, so treat them as a fast first read, and check the package in your hand when it matters.

Order matters and we can't check it. Panels are legally ordered by weight before cooking, which is why fresh meat listed first can still contribute less protein than a meal listed fourth. Read position as a hint, not a fact.
